Planning a trip to Niagara Falls, NY, but don’t want to leave your favorite pet behind? You’re in luck! As fellow dog lovers, we have put together our picks for the Best Pet-Friendly Hotels in Niagara Falls, NY. We looked at every hotel in Niagara Falls that accepts pets to find locations with good pet-friendly staff and solid reviews. We focused on hotels with some walkability so you could get doggie outside for those morning walks.
Here are some of the best pet friendly hotels in Niagara Falls, NY, listed in order of the closest hotels to the Niagara Falls State Park. Niagara Falls, NY is pet friendly, and we have a guide that talks about where you can bring your dog during your visit.
As you firm up your plans, review the hotel’s pet policy posted on the hotel’s website. We also highly encourage you to place a call directly to the hotel just to confirm the details of your stay.
Over the last few years, we have seen a number of Niagara Falls hotels adjusting pet policies. Some of the large mainstay hotels have dropped out of the pet-friendly model while other hotel chains have stepped in to fill the gap.
While many hotels state they are pet friendly, they are often referring to dogs. If you have any animals other than dogs, please inquire directly with on-premises staff to clear your animal for a stay. Hotels in resort areas often like to add on “Resort Fees” and “Parking Fees” Please watch for these fees so they are not a surprise at checkout. We will note these fees when we are aware of them.
First off are the Best Downtown Niagara Falls Pet Friendly Hotels, all within walking distance of Niagara Falls State Park and the attractions.
Downtown Niagara Falls Pet-Friendly Hotels
Hyatt Place Niagara Falls
Hyatt Place
310 Rainbow Blvd.
Niagara Falls, NY 14304
Hyatt Place is one block from Niagara Falls State Park. I love this location because the Niagara Falls State Park is within 5 minutes of walking out of the hotel’s doors,
The footpaths and trail in the park go for miles making the Hyatt one of the best places if you have a dog that will do a lot of walking.
From the Hyatt Place Hotel, Prospect Point and American Falls is a 10-minute walk. You can also walk to Terrapin Point on Goat Island in about 15 minutes.
For longer walks, head north on the Niagara Gorge Rim Trail to explore the Niagara Gorge and Whirlpool State Park. All this dog walking without ever having to walk on city streets.
The only downside to the Hyatt Place Hotel is the hotel parking is across the street in the city parking ramp. This is not really a deal breaker, but some people just want their car a little closer. I would personally take the inconvenience of the 5-minute walk to my car to have all the walking trails so close by.
With Free Breakfast, Pool, Fitness Center, and a Rooftop Terrace, Hyatt Place is a great pet-friendly option.
Pet Rules
Two dogs in a guestroom. The combined weight can not exceed 75 pounds; All pets must be housebroken.
Fees $75
Weight Limits: 50 lbs
The Giacomo, Ascend Hotel Collection
The Giacomo
222 First Street
Niagara Falls, NY 14304
The Giacomo Hotel is a block and a half from the Niagara Falls State Park entrance to Goat Island. The Giacomo is what I would call a boutique hotel housed inside an old art deco office building. The hotel has 44 hotel rooms along with 24 residential units.
I have been lucky enough to have spent several nights in this hotel, and the rooms are really nice. The staff is also top-notch and looks after every detail of your stay.
One thing to keep in mind is the building is almost 100 years old, and along with the charm can come issues that all old buildings face. So if you don’t want to trade off expectations of a newer property, you may want to look elsewhere, but I personally loved my stay and the great views of Niagara Rapids.
Just outside the entrance to the hotel on the left-hand side is a small grassy area for morning and evening quick relief for your dog. But you can be walking on through Niagara Falls State Park in about 5 minutes. A walk to Prospect Point and the American Falls will Take about 10 minutes, and Terrapin Point on Goat Island is about a 15 to 20-minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel has a Hotel Pet Agreement that you can review on the hotel website.
Speak with the hotel staff as they have special agreements for parking. I would call ahead and be sure to understand the parking and pet rules before you book, and I think you will find a place to have a memorable stay while visiting Niagara Falls.
Pet Rules
Two dogs in a guestroom.
The max weight per pet: is 50 pounds
Fees $25 per pet
Hampton Inn Niagara Falls
Hampton Inn Niagara Falls
501 Rainbow Boulevard
Niagara Falls, New York, 1430
The Hampton Inn Niagara Falls on Rainbow Avenue is our last past-friendly hotel in downtown Niagara Falls NY. Just out the back entrance to the Hotel is a large field to take your dog for that early morning and late evening bathroom break.
This hotel is about as far as I would want to stay if I was walking to Niagara Falls attractions. Although Niagara Falls State Park is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, Prospect Point and American Falls will be a 10-15 minute walk, and Terrapin Point on Goat Island will be about 20 minutes walking time.
The good news is that with free parking and some very competitive room rates, with all the money you will be saving, taking the car out on some outings will be just fine.
The Seneca Niagara Casino is located a short walk from the Hampton Inn. Situated just a short walk across the street, the casino has some great food and entertainment options. You can also drive over to the casino and park for free or Valet for 5$
I love free parking and being able to access my car 24/7. As a dog owner, a 20-minute walk is just part of my day, so I think Hampton Inn deserves a close look for your pet-friendly hotel when visiting the Falls.
With Free Breakfast, a pool, a gym and free Parking, and some of the best hotel rates in the city, this may be the best choice if the extra 5 minutes of walking time is not an issue.

Call Ahead Before You Go
Remember to call the hotel you finally decide on to confirm the details of the pet policy currently in place. Hotels periodically change fees and rules, so it is best to be up to date before you start your trip.
This can be especially true for cats. Some hotels will state that they are pet friendly only to mean that they are dog friendly.
Also, inquire with your hotel of choice about any additional hotel fees that will be added to the bill. Some hotels may want to charge a pet fee daily, While another chain will just charge a one-time pet fee every 4 days.
Finally, Niagara Falls is a town with a lot of hotels competing to stay competitive while making enough money to survive during the off-season. Some hotels may charge a resort fee. If you are already calling about the pet policy, it does not hurt to ask about any additional “Resort Fees” or “Service Charges” the hotel will add to the bill at check out. These fees are not necessarily a bad thing. We all just want to know upfront what something will cost.
Canadian Side Hotel Fees On The Rise
The Resort fee issue is not such a problem on the American side of Niagara Falls. In fact, I can only think of a few hotels that charge for parking outside of the Downtown area. On the Canadian side, the “resort fee” issue still comes up often.
If you plan to stay on the Canadian side or even purchase a service such as a meal, you may want to read this article by the CBC about the fee creep in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The bottom line of the article is that some businesses on the Canadian Side have been adding fees to items and services you would not normally expect. The fees are not normally that big, but it is nice to be aware of them before you get a final bill.
